Blackeye
The name alone warranted some attention - it's a striking flower that was bursting to be a clock.
I don’t really like neat, thought-out flower beds, I’d rather see some natural chaos and the beauty that brings. One of my first jobs as a kid was gardener to an elderly couple, I kept their garden neat and tidy which made them happy, but I wasn’t inspired.
Sigh, my parents were tolerant…
We had a large front garden on two levels, with various fancy houses all along our road.
When I turned 15, dad brought home several Honda S90’s which I promptly stripped and turned into two working bikes and, because I was too young, rode them around our garden, completely trashing it – how lucky was I! How unfortunate were our neighbours!
Blackeye is not quite symmetrical, but I think that makes it more natural - I find it satisfying to work out just where the symmetry isn't.
- Limited Edition- I will only make up to 25 of this particular clock. - Each ‘Limited Edition’ clock is numbered; 25 will be the last in the series.
- Clock Specifications- Approximately 332mm wide by 331mm tall. - UV printed on the back of 8mm clear acrylic. - The clock mechanism is very quiet (but not truly silent) with a sweeping second hand. It is battery driven and requires 1 AA battery (included). - The clock has a hanging hole at the back for you to hang it on a hook or nail.
- UV Print- Utilising some of the most up-to-date printing technology in the world, Ultraviolet (UV) printing is a technique using special curing ink. Directly after being sprayed onto the reverse of the acrylic, the ink is hardened with UV light. - This production method offers high quality print, is fade and scratch resistant, and the finished print will have a more durable surface than a solvent based printing process. - UV printers are also more environmentally friendly when compared to other types of printer.
