Rheni Lichen
At 3am we were getting scared - having parked on a rather exposed cliff top, our van was being shaken wildly by strong gusts. Strangely, even though the noise of wind itself is harmless, it evoked such terror that we stopped feeling snug and seriously thought we were in danger.
So, we retreated not so gracefully to somewhere safe.
The next morning, we set off for Rhenigidale feeling all fired-up – giggling at the shenanigans of the previous night.
After driving up and down a windy road we emerge from between two steep crags to see a fantastic Hebridean vista ‘Wow, all the way down there?’ I exclaim - collecting clock images is so much fun.
My brother tells me Lichen is rather special, it’s not a plant, rather a symbiotic partnership of two separate organisms: fungus and algae. The patterns are wonderful and infinite.

UV Print
Utilising some of the most up-to-date printing technology in the world, Ultraviolet (UV) printing is a technique using special curing ink. Directly after being sprayed onto the reverse of the acrylic, the ink is hardened with UV light.
This production method offers high quality print, is fade and scratch resistant, and the finished print will have a more durable surface than a solvent based printing process.
UV printers are also more environmentally friendly when compared to other types of printer.
Packaging
All the packaging is compostable: the box; void filler (a starch-based material that dissolves harmlessly in water); packaging tape; paper clock face protector and clock hands guard - the card and paper are also suitable for putting in your recycle bin.
